Mary Jayne's career has taken her to stages throughout the US and abroad. Among the highlights of her extensive career have been playing Donna Sheridan in The National Tour of Mamma Mia! The National Tour of Les Miserables where she understudied and went on for the role of Fantine numerous times. She was part of the history making Sondheim Celebration at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC where she was cast in Merrily We Roll Along (directed by Christopher Ashley) and Sunday in the Park with George (directed by Eric D. Schaeffer). As part of the celebration she also performed her cabaret show What I Know on The Millennium Stage (www.kennedy-center.org/millennium).

In New York City she played Lonnie Paisley in The Paisley Sisters Christmas Special which was part of The New York Musical Theatre Festival 2006 (www.nymf.org). She was part of the festival also in 2004  appearing in The Man Who Would Be King (music by Neil Berg, book and lyrics by DJ Salisbury). Other New York performances have included the songs of Stephen Randoy in the Songbook Series presented by Arts and Artists at St. Paul's (produced by John Znidarsic), Breakthrough-A Musical Epiphany (book and lyrics by Brian Blythe and Kristin Madden, music by Brennan Johnson)  presented for the Developmental Reading Series at The York Theatre Company, and four Christmas seasons as a New Yorker in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular on the historic Radio City stage.
Regionally she has appeared as Marmee in Little Women (directed by Michael Hamilton) at Stages St. Louis, Kate in Kiss Me Kate (directed by Stephen Reed) at The TriArts Theatre in Sharon, Connecticut, Aldonza in Man of LaMancha (directed by Susan Streater) at Stoneham Theatre in Massachusetts, Woman # 2 in I Love You...You're Perfect...Now Change! (directed by Cary Libkin) at Pennsylvania Centre Stage, and Nancy in OLIVER! (Directed by Cary Libkin) at Struthers Library Theatre in Pennsylvania.
In the Washington DC area two shows at Signature Theatre: The Fix (produced by Cameron McIntosh and directed by Eric D. Schaeffer) and Side Show (directed by Joe Calarco), Round House Theatre, The World Goes Round, Woman #2 (directed by Patdro Harris and Jerry Whiddon) , Studio Theatre, A New Brain, Rhoda (directed by Serge Seiden) , Metrostage, the World Premiere of Becoming George, Marthe (directed by Brett Smock) , at Ford's Theatre: A Christmas Carol playing the Ghost of Christmas Past (directed by David H. Bell) and Eleanor: An American Love Story (directed by Lisa Portes).
She has performed the music and lyrics of many songwriters including Mark W.Braswell, and can be heard on his CD Before Tomorrow

Her cabaret show Calendar Girl  had a successful 3 show engagement at The Downstairs Cabaret Theatre in Rochester, New York and a sold-out performance at The Arts Club of Washington.
